El Jefe Necklace
El Jefe is a large male jaguar known to frequent the Lamanai Reserve and Indian Church areas. His tell-tale marking is on his right flank and resembles a comb. He is not camera shy and has been photographed stretching out to take naps in front of our cameras in the evening. His muscular stature and calm demeanor have earned him the name “El Jefe”, meaning The Boss.
