These gorgeous necklaces are handmade by a local craftswoman and their copper medallions are based on one of Mancha’s spots.

Mancha is our oldest and largest jaguar. He frequents the Lamanai Reserve and has such a large stature that he is hard to mistake for other cats in the area. The name “Mancha” (or spot) came from his unique rosette patterns. Mancha’s exact age in unknown, but this large cat has been photographed in years past and it is suspected that he may have fathered cubs with Maya in 2011. If there were a true king of the jungle, Mancha would certainly deserve a seat at the throne. This strong and powerful ruler towers over all other jaguars in the region.
