Puñal Necklace

These wonderful necklaces are handmade by a local craftswoman and their copper medallions are based on one of Puñal’s spots.

Puñal is the most recognizable ocelot in the area, a large and healthy male. The marking on his right flank resembles a dagger, hence the Spanish translation “Puñal”. He has been unphased by the movements of the larger jaguars and pumas in the area and we have seen him on the same cameras that have snapped photos of them. Puñal has a favorite route to travel, which he likes to do under the cover of the wee morning hours.
